Montserrat

One of the most popular mountain excursions from Barcelona is Montserrat, a mountain unique in the world due to its distinctive rounded shape and one of the most beloved places among Catalans. It is home to the Basilica of the Virgin of Montserrat, known as *La Moreneta*, the patron saint of Catalonia. The mountain is also a natural park, where visitors can enjoy hiking, cycling, climbing and spectacular views.

A trip to Montserrat from Barcelona can easily be done by car, train or rack railway. It is located around 50 km from the city.

 

Figueres and the Dalí Museum

Figueres is a picturesque town where you can visit the historic centre and the Dalí Theatre-Museum and Dalí Jewels, which house the largest collection representing the artistic evolution of Salvador Dalí, from his early works to his most iconic surrealist creations.
